Technology

The Branford Public Schools Technology Department supports the digital systems, devices, networks, classroom technology, communication tools, and online services used throughout the district.

We work with students, families, staff, administrators, and community partners to keep technology reliable, secure, accessible, and effective for teaching, learning, communication, safety, and district operations.

What We Do

The Technology Department supports the devices, systems, and digital services used by students and staff each day, along with the technology infrastructure that operates behind the scenes throughout Branford Public Schools.

Our work includes setting up, maintaining, troubleshooting, and replacing district-provided devices, as well as supporting software and instructional applications. We manage the district network, wireless access, internet connectivity, user accounts, identity systems, and access controls. We also support classroom displays, audiovisual equipment, phones, paging systems, websites, digital signage, video conferencing, and other communication platforms.

In addition, the department coordinates technology projects, works with vendors, protects district systems and information through cybersecurity practices, and plans long-term technology investments that support teaching, learning, communication, safety, and district operations.

Our Mission and Commitment

Our mission is to provide reliable, secure, accessible, and user-focused technology that supports teaching, learning, communication, safety, and efficient district operations. We value service, collaboration, continuous improvement, cybersecurity, and the responsible use of public resources. Our goals are to maintain dependable systems, improve the user experience, strengthen security, and make sustainable technology investments that support the district’s long-term needs.

Technology support extends far beyond computers. The department maintains network infrastructure, phones, classroom displays, websites, digital signage, audiovisual systems, communication platforms, cybersecurity tools, and many of the systems that help Branford Public Schools operate each day. The district continues a multiyear technology modernization effort focused on network reliability, cybersecurity, device replacement, communication systems, website improvements, and consistent support across all schools.

Technology requests should be submitted through the district support system whenever possible so they can be documented, tracked, assigned, and updated. Urgent issues affecting safety, communications, instruction, or districtwide services are prioritized. Routine requests are addressed based on their impact and the order in which they are received.
