Connecticut Seal of Biliteracy
In Connecticut, students in high school, (grade 10 and above) can take a test to show their proficiency in their home language and/or a world language they have studied. If the students pass a specific test they can be awarded the Seal of Biliteracy on their high school diploma.
Leading the way in Language Assessments
The LAS Links Assessment is a state and federally mandated assessment that is given once a year in January and/or February to all of our current English learners. Students are tested in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. Scores are usually available in May.
The Connecticut State Department of Education sets the criteria to exit English learner services. The current exit criteria is listed below.
