The department’s reach extends further than most people realize: if a student rides a bus, eats lunch, or uses a District issued Chromebook, Business & Finance processed the contract, purchase, or payment that made it possible.
Business & Finance manages the District’s financial resources in support of student learning, including budget development, purchasing, accounts payable, grants management, and financial reporting.
The department’s core work ensures that teachers can teach and students can learn without needing to consider whether facilities, transportation, or payroll will be reliably funded.

Understanding the Budget

 

The District’s main budget document is one of the most important items our Department works on. It’s a multi-step, ongoing process to develop the budget, which includes:

  • Recommended budget: The budget the Superintendent submits for review
  • Final budget: The budget that has been approved after final review and amendments
